"Thank you sir!" Kasi called over his shoulder, he was so excited. He leaped onto his bed and rolled around for a moment or two. Then he explored the area, smiling and laughing. He was so happy to be in a place to call his own. Now just to find some fe--males. Kasi lowered his head. "Right." He mumbled to himself. Perhaps a lioness will meet him and want to be his. He smiled at the thought and went back to his bed, he'd take a quick cat nap now.

I bounded back to Zora.
"He is safe and happily housed. For now" I nuzzled her and nipped her ear.
I wondered what would happen if he found a lioness outside my area and mated.
They would have to go ... this was MY land.
"I told him not to piss me off. I don't even like me when i'm scary" I raised my eye brows and pursed my lips.
I started to groom myself when a scent caught my nose.
Down at the beach, half a mile away, were a herd of horses.
"Zora. Stretch your legs, darling. I will check Cray. Hunt" I grinned.
I knew Zora hated being cooped up.

Zora lead Meeka back into the pride lands, she could hear the sound of her cub mewing. She sighed dropped the zebra and grabbed Cray by the scruff. "Meet Cray." She said placing him in front of Meeka. "This is my home."
Zora stood protectively over him, she'd let Meeka see him, but not touch him. "Pico and Kasi should be around here somewhere. Care to meet them?" Zora asked with a warm smile. She then opened up the zebra and allowed Meeka to eat first, she was so thin.
"I smell food AND a female! Where she at?" Kasi asked bounding over. He stopped and saw the zebra and licked his maw. "Oh." Kasi lowered his head. "Nice to meet you." He nodded in hello disappointed at seeing Meeka was a young cub.
Zora growled and playfully shoved Kasi out of the way of the meal. "As you can see you just met Kasi."

Meeka watched as the lioness picked up her cub and set him between her two forelimbs. She slicked her ears back and watched the younger cub. He was very young, much younger than she was. It was no wonder that Zora was protective over him.
The cub skittered backwards when Kasi bounded over. She pressed herself to the floor and kept her ears back. She wasn't sure she liked this male.
She walked hesitantly over to the zebra and took a tentative bite, but as soon as the still warm meat touched her tongue, she devoured a few more bites. She licked her maw and looked up at Zora. "This is a very nice place here. And your son is very cute."

I came back to the cave.
"Kasi. Zora. And hello, new one" I smiled, adressing them all with a nod and smiling at my son.
"I'm Pico, the leader of this pride" I made sure Kasi heard this.
"Kasi, me and you can feed on the wolf i caught" I chuckled, dragging it over.
I stared curiously at the pretty cub.

As soon as the pride leader wondered into the cave, Meeka once again flattened herself against the cave floor and backed away. He looked very intimidating; she had never seen someone like that. This male made Kasi seem less frightening. Even though she could feel his gaze settle on her, she couldn't look up at him.
The cub cleared her throat, still averting her gaze from the large lion. "M-my name is Meeka, sir... Aunt Zora brought me h-here." Her skittish behavior was something new, but she couldn't help it.

"Don't be afraid Meeka. I won't hurt you. Are you looking to join my pride, darling?" I asked, staring at her intently.
I went to sit beside Zora and Cray and watched as my son settled down to sleep beside my mate.
Again, i thought of the white cub buried outisde.
Cray was black and she was white.
Strange.

"Umm, yes sir. I would like to join your pride." She glanced up at him slightly and relaxed a little bit, but she was still nervous. She sat up, wrapped her tail around her paws and glanced around the cave. When she looked over at Zora, Cray and the larger male, she felt a pang of sadness stab her. They look so happy together.
Swallowing the sadness, hoping no one saw, she looked over to Kasi. He was a strange sort of male and she wondered why he was here. He looked like he could be on his own with his own pride.

"Don't call me sir. My name is Pico. And that is Kasi. He tried to steal Zora and is now living in the pride for a while" I explained, seeing Meeka glance.
She was in my pride now.
She belonged to me.
I told her this and waited very patiently for a response.

Tried to steal his mate, but is still allowed to live with him? The cub thought that was a bit strange, but didn't dare question it. "Well, Pico, you have a very nice cave here, I might say." She giggled slightly as she checked out the place. She spotted a pool of water in the back and a wide smile crossed her face. She'd always loved water, ever since she was just a few days old. She liked how the sun would cast strange shadows and shimmers in the waves.

"Thank you. It is your cave as well. Kasi, why are you here?" I smiled at Meeka and then turned frowning to Kasi.
Did i tell him to come?
Or did i even give him permission?
I would let him stay for an hour or so.
"So Meeka, tell me about yourself" I said to the cub.

Kais looked up from the meal, "Hello" He said, a bit of food dribbling down his mane. "Oops, sorry." He laughed and swallowed the remaining food in this mouth and then he began to groom himself, he sighed standing outside of the cave. Knowing full well he could not enter. He sat at the entrance.
Zora smiled and said, "Meeka, welcome to our home and pride."

"Kasi ... come on in then" I hesitated.
First and last time, i added in my mind.
As soon as Cray was able to hunt and fend off enemies, i would need to let go of Kasi.
"Yes Meeka, welcome. Would you care to take a walk with me?" I stood up and motioned for Meeka to follow as i walced out of the cave.

Meeka watched the other lions in the cave, lost in thought. This place was nice, but it would never come close to how life was with her family. But then again, she didn't live long with them till she got separated from them.
She jumped a little bit when Pico asked her to go for a walk with him. The cub looked back at Zora with a hesitant glance, but followed after the pride leader. She didn't know what he was going to say, but she knew he wasn't going to hurt her. She was, after all, part of his pride now.

"You belong to me now. When you are older, we mate. You stay in my land, and you ask before you leave it. You will get protection and shelter and food now that your in my pride. Kasi ... well ... if he makes a move on you, tell me and i shall banish him. You belong to me now" I made this clear and smiled down at her.
I would not mate with her until about 2 or 3 years.

Zora nodded in encouragement and watched the two go. She was alone with Cray and Kasi now. Kasi smiled and walked over to Zora and she gave a warning growl. Kasi rolled his eyes and planted himself in the corner. Silent as can be. Zora rolled over and rested, tired from a long hunt and day. She was soon asleep.
Cray wondered over and sniffed at Kasi and wormed his way between Kasi's paws and was content. Kasi would've put the cub back, but he was asleep too.

After i had said that to Meeka i started walking back to the cave.
I started in disbelief at Kasi.
Cray was snuggled between his paws.
"Get the hell away from my cub!" I roared and pounced on him, rolling Cray away and sliding him gently over to Zora.
I climbed off of Kasi and stood panting at him, eyes blazing in anger.

Zora roared and stood up, snarling. Cray scream at the sudden roar. Kasi roared and said, "What did I do?!" He tried to break free from Pico's grip but it was no use.
Zora pushed Pico aside and brought her face close to Kasi, she looked frightening. "Tell me the truth and no one gets hurt."
"I was just sleeping. And Pico attacked me! But I didn't grap Cray honest!" Kasi roared, he stayed on the group, not wanting to frighten Cray more.

"Lies!" I snarled.
I hugged Cray and nuzzled Zora.
"Your lucky i don't banish you" I said more calmly.
It was seriously posting over and over in my head ... but i would give him one more chance.
I was about to swipe at him when a yelping over came me.
I looked out of the cave and saw a little dirty white cub, yowilng.
"Oh my god" I gasped and ran over.
My dead daughter!
"She ... she's alive!" I laughed and picked her up and hugged her.

Zora saw the dirty white cub and mumbled, "M-my daughter?" She then collapsed in tears, she thought she had lost her daughter. Her little girl was alive! Alive! She grabbed Cray and brought her over to his sister. She began to groom them both, weeping with joy, relief and hate towards herself for thinking her daughter was dead.

I cried with Zora.
"She should be named after your aunt. Or called lucky" I chuckled through my tears and cuddled the little female cub.
We had buried her for a full day!
We had been so cruel!!!!
"She must have been sleeping" I was amazing and rolled Zora over and let my daughter suckle.

"My aunt's name was Akoth..." Zora said trailing off between sobs. She was so beautiful. She smiled, she had two cubs to feed now. Zora looked up and asked, Where's Kasi?""

"Akoth or Lucky?" I asked, not wanting to be reminded of Trojan, my mother.
I wanted to call her Lucky as she was lucky.
Very very lucky.
"I can't believe this. She was just sleeping" I nuzzled the fluffy cub, smiling.
I wondered how big my pride would be now that my cave was already half full!

"You pick my dear." Zora said nodding. She thought of her aunt how beautiful and kind she was. Creamy white with a beautiful pink nose. She smiled letting a tear slip down her face. She'd look for Kasi later. She sighed letting her daughter suckle her longer, even though she was starting to get uncomfortable.

"I haven't the slightest idea! Lucky?" I asked, biting my lip.
Kasi was no where to be seen.
"I am going to look for Kasi. I will bring back some meat" I licked my cubs and my mate and set off at a jog.
I found Kasi sitting in his cave.
"Kasi" I said, waiting at the entrance.
I was still angry, but not as much as before.

Kasi had his back to the cave entrance, he growled at the sound of Pico's voice. "What do you want?"
He didn't wait for an answer, "You leave me alone. No one lets me talk around here." He walked further into the cave and slumped down again.

Kasi flicked his ear at hearing of the cub's resurrection, Zora had told him about it a bit ago. But his mood did not improve much, "I know I'm not apart of your pride but you don't need to treat me like I'm some mating crazed lion who can't control myself. Damn, if your gonna treat me like a pest then I'll leave. I'm not perfect, but I would like some respect." Kasi stayed silent. He was angry again. He turned his head away from Pico and snarled into his paws.
"And I am going to fall in love and I am going to mate with the lioness of my dreams. But only if she choices me. You'd do the same if I was in your paws and Zora was my lioness." Kasi cleared his throat realizing he had overstep his boundaries--again. "Anyway, you told me to speak out my anger and I did. Now if you'll excuse me I gotta go kill something." The last few words on Kasi's lips were filled with venom. He padded out of the cave and into the hot sun. He was still angry.
