She had no idea of how she got to this place, but she was here and that was that. Sitting back on her rump, she watched at the clouds moved across the sky and the occasional grasshopper jump from the blades of grass. She giggled slightly and batted at one that had landed close to her paw. After the little creature hopped away, Meeka jumped to all fours and pounced after it.
The little lion cub bounded playfully after the grasshopper, trying to swipe at it with her little claws sheathed. Soon, the bug had managed to give the little lion the slip and disappeared into the tall grasses once more.
She huffed and looked around to see if she could find it, but it was no use. Meeka stopped and rolled over on to her back, batting at the blades of grass that landed in her face and watched the sky, still hoping her little "friend" would show back up again.

Zora had been taking one of her walks, she had grown restless after becoming pregnant. She couldn't hunt so she spent her days wandering the territories and she was on the look out for other lionesses to bring back to Pico. She sighed, smelling the rain on the wind. It was a beautiful day and she hopped the clouds would only pass over. She was about to turn back to the cave, when she saw a yellow creature run across the ground a few yards a head of her. She walked quietly over, hopping it was something she could hunt. To her pleasant surprise it was a young lion cub. "Where did you come from little one?" Zora asked lightly.

As she lied there, she heard foot steps coming towards her. Her curiosity spiked and she sat up, coming face to face with another lion just like her. A crooked grin crossed her face and the cub stood up and walked around the lioness' figure. Meeka batted playfully at her tail, but eventually found her way back to the front of the other female lion.
At the question, the young lion just grinned and shrugged her shoulders. The thing is, she didn't even know where she'd come from herself, so it would always be difficult to tell others where she was from. She cocked her head in a questioning manner, as if to ask the other lioness where she came from or who she was.
The cub knew it was going to be difficult to communicate with the newcomer, but she was trying to figure out this one. She was not quite sure if the lioness could be fully trusted or not.

Zora cocked her head at seeing the young cub had no idea where she had come from. "You're not one to talk much are you little one?" The dark lioness asked, laying down so she was eye level with the she-cub. "Have any idea where you are headed? 'Cause I could tell you if you want." Zora offered. She was worried for the cub. She needed to be protected and she knew that Pico would allow her to stay the night.

When confronted about her not talking much, she simply slicked her ears back, averted her gaze and shook her head lightly. It was true, she didn't talk much, but it wasn't like she couldn't. The cub just simply did not. She looked back at the lioness and noticed she had lied down to be level with her. She doesn't seem so bad. Meeka thought happily.
The cub looked down at her paws for a moment before speaking. "No, I don't know where I'm going." Her voice was soft and quiet, but there was no hint of nervousness or worry in her voice.
She licked one of her forepaws and dragged it across the top of the bridge of her muzzle, trying to removed some of the dirt that had collected in her fur and on her scars.

Zora frowned at the thought of this little cub wandering about. "Well," she began trying to find the best way to ask. "How about you come and help me catch some dinner?" She was only going to the river, and Pico had food back at home, but she wanted the cub to trust her. She didn't want her wondering around alone.

The cub looked up at her with a confused look. Her hunt? She was nothing more than a tiny scavenger! Nothing more than a wingless, featherless vulture! Her ears swiveled back and she fidgeted with her paws. "But ma'am, I don't know how to hunt." She motioned to her tiny frame by glancing down at her chest.
Meeka saw that the other female was genuinely concerned about her and knowing that, she felt a sharp pang of sadness in her heart. She dearly missed her family but knew that it was nearly impossible for her to ever see them again. She shook her head lightly and then muttered, "I can still accompany you though."

"Please, call me Zora." The dark lioness replied. "I understand. Perhaps I can bring you a meal?" She wanted to help the cub, but if she refused Zora would understand. It was hard to see this skinny cub wondering alone. But she didn't want to scare her, even if she was truly trying to help.

In response to the lioness' question, the cub's stomach growled. With a nervous chuckle and a guilty glance at her, Meeka reluctantly nodded. "That would be good, thank you." She was still very curious about this lioness, Zora.
The lion cub stood up and carefully made note of the other lion's posture. She was relaxed and didn't look at all aggressive, but the cub still wasn't entirely sure about her.

"Of course. Would you like to come with me or should I return with the food?" Zora asked, she wanted to give the little girl an option. She was glad she was being careful, if some other lion came along, she didn't want the cub trusting them. She began to walk off, the smell of wild rabbit came to her senses. She licked her maw.

The little cub thought for a moment, but nodded her head slightly and stood up. "It seems easier for me to just come with you." She said, following after the lioness.
As they walked, her would occasionally growl. She felt bad that she was making so much noise and possibly distracting Zora from finding a meal for the two of them. She was about to apologize when she realized that she had never given her name to the lioness. She mentally hit herself for her rude manners. "I forgot to mention this earlier, but my name is Meeka." She said, slightly embarrassed.

"Sounds like a plan." Zora said with a smile. "Nice to meet you. What a pretty name. You can call me Aunt Zora." Zora saw the herd of zebra and licked her maw, "Ever seen a hunt before?" the dark lioness asked the small cub.
When she spotted a older, cub she ran with speed and agility. Taking the zebra by surprise she slammed into the her prey. It didn't take long for her to slay the beast, and she tried to clean up the blood around her maw as best as possible. She didn't want to startled the cub. She dragged it over and said through a muffled mouth, "Let get this out of sight of scavengers. Care to follow?"

Meeka beamed when she heard Zora say she had a pretty name. It's been a long while since someone has said that to her and she was happy to hear it. She was about to reply to the lioness, but she took off before she could say anything.
She watched as she brought down a zebra, her eyes wide with fascination. The cub had never seen a hunt in her life. She had always thought it was hard, but the way Zora did it, it made it look so easy.
Nodding happily, and she bounded after the lioness. She looked at the zebra that she was dragging and wondered if she could ever bring down something like that.
